About San Diego, Hillcrest and Mission Hills

SAN DIEGO

San Diego is California's second-largest city, and the seventh largest in the United States. It has a city population of 1.3 million people with more than 2.8 million people in San Diego County. There are 4200 square miles of land in the County of San Diego, which is the southernmost city in California. The climate in San Diego is nearly ideal, and there are 70 miles of beautiful beaches, with the many types of recreational activities that go along with such a coastline.

Interstate 5 and interstate 15 run north and south through San Diego to the Mexican border. Interstate 8 runs from east to west.

Some points of interest are: The San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, Tecolote Canyon National Park, Old Town San Diego State Historical Park, Mission Trails Regional Park, Scripps, Institution of Oceanography, Sea World, and Mission Bay Park, the west coast?s largest aquatic park with over 4000 acres and a wide range of recreational activities.

HILLCREST

Hillcrest is like a small village within the city of San Diego, with beautifully tree-lined streets and simple architecture that make it an attractive and very comfortable place to live. On almost every street there are elegant restaurants and outdoor cafes, which lend to the intimacy of this community. After the sun sets the music begins, and Hillcrest becomes alive with concerts, nightclubs, live music, art films, and dining.

MISSION HILLS

Mission Hills is an affluent neighborhood that started up next to Presidio Park, which was the original birthplace of the San Diego Mission Alcala. Much later in history a woman named Kate Sessions began a nursery in Mission Hills. She planted some of the largest and most magnificent trees still standing in Balboa Park. The Mission Hills Nursery survives to this day.

The feeling of Mission Hills as an area seems to have been pervaded by this original nursery. The many floral shops and small, intimate cafes and restaurants give a sense of relaxation and calmness.

Real Estate Tips
Bargain Properties >Advice From Real Estate Agents

When buying a home, it is essential to cooperate as closely as possible with your real estate agent. This can be challenging, especially if your agent asks you to do some things that you don't particularly want to do to in order to get you moved into your new home as quickly as possible.

When real estate agents advise you regarding ways to make the transaction work, they are acting as part coach and part business consultant. If you find the house you love and want to "sleep on" the decision for a few days, the agent knows that you run the risk of losing the house. If you are inclined to complicate your offer with clauses that might make the contract unattractive to the sellers, the agent may ask you to consider some modifications. Should you call the week before the closing with an attack of "buyer's remorse", your agent knows the cure. Following your real estate agent's suggestions will increase your chances for a successful move!
